Summer 2010, James, whose Chinese name is Wang, Hwai-Chern(王懷晨), came to Boston to study at Boston University. He came from Taipei which is the capital city of Taiwan. He likes Boston very much because he is a super fan of RedSox and Celtics.
In the beginning, he lived in the dorm. After one semester, he planned to move out because he could have kitchen, living room and privacy space. On August, he found the apartment whose location is the J's bar right now. After taken a look, he had an idea that he wanted to use the long table and the living area to create a place where he could watch ball games with his friends.
Sept. 1st, he moved into the new apartment, he started to create his own small bar. In the meantime, he found that the cocktails played an important role in American culture. Also, he likes the color of cocktails. It's beautiful and classic. Thus, he started to learn how to make cocktails by himself.
Oct. 2010, everything was ready. He hosted the first event in J's Bar - House Warming Lobster Party. People had great time at that day. Steam Lobsters has become the famous dish in the bar. James also provided many service for his friends, who come from different countries. He wanted the bar to become a private guest house for his friends and himself. They can drink, talk and have fun in the bar.
Dec. 2010, Wes and Billy were the first two friends, who came from other states, stayed in the J's Bar for more than 3 days. They were the first customers used B&B service.
Now 2011, J's Bar becomes more and more famous among students in the Boston. People can even check-in at J's Bar on the Facebook. May.2011, the J's Bar website has been launched.
